Which sector carry the highest share price in market? Detailed sector price analysis of all 213 listed companies in NEPSE?

There are total 213 listed companies in Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE). NEPSE has divided 213 companies in 11 different sectors. The sectors are Commercial Banks, Development Bank, Finance, Hotels, Hydro Power, Insurance, Manufacturing and Processing, Mutual Fund, Others, Preferred Stock and Trading. Total number of companies varies under each sector. It is Development Bank sector that has the highest number of scrip fall under it i.e. 75; whereas, Preferred Stock sector has only Everest Bank Limited Convertible Preference Share in the list.
Also, the total 213 listed scrips has their own trading price. During trading day, the stock prices are fluctuated in the stock market and the last traded price is fixed only after the market is closed of that day. The stock price may increase or decrease depends on buyers and sellers of the scrip. Interestingly,the buyer think its good price to buy, wheras the seller think its best price to sell.
Uniliver Nepal Limited (UNL) which belongs to Manufacturing And Processing Sector has the highest price per scrip of Rs.30, 100/- and the Nepal Film Dev.Co. (NFD) Ltd. belonging to Others Sector has the lowest price Rs.34.35 comparing to the closing price of total listed companies in NEPSE.
The bar chart above shows the top 10 stock with highest price. Uniliver Nepal Limited with its price Rs. 30,100/- top the list whereas RSDC Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. with its price Rs. 3,180/- is at the bottom. Likewise, it has Micro Finance (development bank) Sector’s 6 stock, Manufacturing and Processing Sector’s 2 stocks, Finance Sector’s 1 stock and from the Non-Life Insurance Sector there is 1 stock. It depicts Micro Finance Sector coverage is high in the top highest stock price list.Consistent return and low paid up capital is the main reason; investors are paying so high for microfinance companies. Unfortunately, there is no any stock belongs to the Banking Sector,in the top 10 list, which has great impact in our NEPSE.

Nepal Film Development Company Ltd. with its price Rs.34.35/- top the list, whereas Arun Finance Limited with its price Rs.180/- at the bottom. It has Finance Sector’s 5 stock, Hydro Sector’s 2 stock, Development Sector’s 1 stock, Manufacturing and Processing Sector’s 1 stock and from the Others Sector there is 1 stock. The top 10 stock with lowest price is mostly covered by the Finance Sector.

Overall 172 promoter scrip and merger or acquisition companies which trading is stop in NEPSE are excluded from this study. The price range of Rs.100/- to Rs.299/- contains the highest number of stock i.e. 49 stock, whereas price range of Rs. 7,000/- to Rs. 30,100/- has only 3 stock in its list.The point to be noted in the bar is that the lowest price range i.e. Rs.10 to Rs.99/- and the highest price range Rs. 7,000/- to Rs. 30,100/- has the low number of stock compare to other price ranges.
