Unilever Nepal earning surpassed by massive 231.01% in Q4; EPS increases to Rs 1,139 from Rs 344

Unilever Nepal Limited (UNL) has posted net profit rises by 231.01 percent in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year 2072/73. According to the unaudited financial statement published by the multinational company today, its profit after tax has inclined to Rs 1.04 arba in the fourth quarter from Rs 31.69 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal year. UNL operating profit surpasses to Rs 61.61 crore as compared to Rs 42.85 crore in the corresponding quarter. The company’s turnover for this quarter has increased by 8.7 percent over same period of previous year. Net profit for this quarter has increased massively by 190% over same period of previous year because of impact of correction of allocation of housing fund. The housing fund allocation has been taken as an appropriation from profit instead of charge to P&L and hence the amount is abnormally high for the quarter. Net profit for the quarter would have increased by 43% if the impact of housing fund correction done in Q4 is removed. The company’s total income increased to Rs 1.54 arba in Q4 compared to Rs 1.45 arba the same period last year. The company has also stated that its total expenditure reduced to Rs 93.12 crore in the fourth quarter from Rs 1.02 arba in the previous year report of the fiscal year 2071/72. Unilever retained earnings and reserves increased to Rs 1.95 arba in the fourth quarter from Rs 1.75 arba in the correponding quarter. UNL’s earning per share (EPS) has inclined to Rs 1,139 in Q4 from Rs 344 in the previous quarter, and its net worth per share now stands at Rs 2124, up from Rs 1896 in previous quarter.
