Total Deposits Went Down Rs. 5 Billion in First Week of Mangsir, Lending Down by Rs. 3 Billion

Nepal Bankers' Association (NBA) has released a thorough study on the deposit and lending trends in the country's commercial banks. This data is current as of first week of Mangsir, 2079. The CD ratio stands at 86.91% as of Mangsir 02, 2079. However, the same ratio as of 7th Mangsir stood at 86.81%.

In the first week of Mangsir month, the total amount of deposits decreased by Rs. 5 billion (Arba), reaching Rs. 4558 billion. Deposits totaling Rs. 4444 billion being made in local currency, with the remaining Rs. 114 billion being made in foreign currency. In the end of Kartik, this figure had risen by Rs. 17 billion from the week before that. 

Compared to the previous week's report, the overall amount of lending has gone down by Rs. 3 billion, reaching Rs. 4219 billion. Lending of Rs. 4191 billion has been sent in local currency, while Rs. 29 billion has been sent in foreign currency.
