Electronic Payments Made Mandatory for All Public Sector Transactions Starting July 17

The Ministry of Finance has issued a directive mandating that all public sector payments be made exclusively through electronic systems, effective from 17 July 2025.

The circular has been dispatched to all ministries, Nepal Rastra Bank, public institutions, boards, committees, and authorities, in line with the announcement made in the fiscal year 2025/26 budget statement.

This directive follows a ministerial-level decision taken by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel on July 11, and ensures that no payment from public entities will be processed through non-digital means from the beginning of the new fiscal year.
