The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is in preparation to publicize the monetary policy for the ongoing fiscal year 2080-81 by the end of first week of Shrawan.

Talking to Sharesansar over the phone, Deputy Spokesperson & Information Officer Narayan Prasad Pokhrel stated that the central bank has plans to make public the monetary policy by Shrawan 07 (i.e., coming Sunday).

He said, "The internal procedures of the Nepal Rastra Bank has been formulated in a manner to publicize the monetary policy by Shrawan 07."

Governor of NRB Maha Prasad Adhikari is returning to Nepal from his foreign trip on Wednesday. Earlier, A 28-member team, headed by the governor, is set to travel to Canada in an effort to save Nepal from being placed on the "grey list" for money laundering. Sources had indicated that the team will engage in discussions with the assessment team of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) during their visit to Canada.

Following his return and subsequent office resumption, he is to engage in discussions of the pending monetary policy, according to Pokhrel.

In response to a question, if or not there will be sufficient time for discussions to make the monetary policy publicly available by Shrawan 07, Pokhrel said that if the board meetings in the matter conclude with a consensus, multiple meetings will not be conducted and as such it is sufficient time to meet the said deadline.

"For the moment, NRB is adamant on making public the monetary policy for FY 2080-81 by Shrawan 07."
