The Government of Nepal has appointed Pratap Subedi as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the country's sole stock exchange.

A Cabinet meeting decided to appoint Subedi to the top executive position based on the recommendation of the selection committee formed by the Ministry of Finance. Mahesh Acharya, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, confirmed the appointment.

Subedi was selected from among four candidates competing for the position. The other contenders included Anil Raj Paudel, Nawaraj Sapkota, and Narayan Prasad Sapkota.

Following the Cabinet's decision, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle handed over the appointment letter to Subedi on Wednesday and instructed him to carry out his responsibilities with honesty and integrity.

Subedi's appointment comes at a significant time for NEPSE, as Nepal's capital market continues to face demands for institutional strengthening, technological advancement, improved market infrastructure, and enhanced investor confidence.
