Dr Varun Chaudhary, Managing Director of CG Corp Global, represented Nepal at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, as the only invitee from the country, placing Nepal in the global artificial intelligence (AI) conversation.

The Summit was attended by representatives from at least 100 countries, including world leaders, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, United Nations Sectary General Antonio Guterres and French President Emmanuel Macron, where they discussed the fast-advancing AI technology that is prompting investment enthusiasm and deep concern globally.

The meeting, which was rescheduled for February 16-21 due to overwhelming participation, was the fourth in a series of international AI meetings held since 2023 in France, South Korea and the United Kingdom.

While the high-level diplomatic “Leaders’ Plenary” concluded on February 20 with the adoption of the New Delhi Frontier AI Impact Commitments, the public exhibition and startup showcases are concluding today evening.

During the meeting, Dr Chaudhary highlighted Nepal’s emerging tech ecosystem on the global platform, shaping the future of AI in the country.

Talking to the media after the meeting, he spoke about Gen-Z aspirations in AI, highlighting the potential for the Nepal-India collaboration in the sector.

“I am excited to be part of this biggest AI Summit in Global south. Nepal is India’s natural partner,” he said, adding that the key thing of the Summit is its world impact.

He noted that Gen Z wants measurable results quickly and their information sources are fully digital with aspirations centered around IT and AI. “We all need to be very careful about AI, as it is going to shape our destiny and future,” he said.

“Nepal underwent a lot of upheavals in the last couple of years until the recent movement, but we fought back with courage. IT ecosystem of Nepal is evolving rapidly and is really becoming a backend hub for many companies in the west. From that point of view, Nepal has brilliant talents in IT solutions,” he said.

He added that Nepal and India can certainly collaborate in this front. “We definitely see the next big leap in AI. I would love to explore partnership with companies in India that have developed AI tools and platforms and extend them to Nepal as well.”
