The Transport Management Office in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat–Sustapurba) has collected over Rs 233 million in revenue during the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS.

According to Office Chief Tek Bahadur Nepali, the total revenue was generated from multiple sources, including vehicle tax, driving licenses, vehicle registration, and other administrative services.

Out of the total collection, the highest contribution came from vehicle tax, which accounted for Rs 192.42 million. Similarly, Rs 37.49 million was collected from driving license and vehicle registration services. The office also generated Rs 2.32 million from transportation sector-related income revenue, while Rs 771,528 was collected through other administrative service fees.

Chief Nepali stated that the office initiated a special campaign during the Nepali month of Chaitra aimed at making tax collection more systematic and effective. He attributed the rise in revenue to improved service delivery, emphasizing promptness and transparency in operations.

Despite the strong performance, the revenue collected during the review period is slightly lower compared to the total collection of Rs 235.4 million recorded in the last fiscal year 2081/82 BS.

Officials remain optimistic that continued administrative improvements and public cooperation will further strengthen revenue collection in the remaining months of the fiscal year.
