Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has initiated the removal of public transport ticket counters located outside the new bus park. This morning, ticket counters in the vicinity of Balaju Bus Park were dismantled.

The KMC, in collaboration with the Nepal Police, has deployed a team to ensure security and facilitate the removal process. The city police are actively dismantling the boards of the ticket counters.

Earlier, the KMC issued a notice instructing the removal of all ticket counters situated outside the new bus park. The directive emphasized that tickets should only be obtained from within the premises of the new bus park.

Ticket counters selling public transport tickets are prevalent in various areas such as Kalanki, Gaushala, Koteshwar, Balaju, Sundhara, among others.

The decision to remove these haphazardly placed ticket counters stems from complaints regarding their detrimental impact on the city's aesthetics, difficulties in managing traffic due to the increased number of vehicles, and instances of passengers being deceived by unregulated ticket counters.
