Reduction in Public Transport Fares Following Fuel Price Decrease
Following a decrease in fuel prices, the fares of public transport have been reduced.
On Sunday, Nepal Oil Corporation lowered diesel prices by Rs 4 and petrol prices by Rs 6 per litre.
As of today, the Department of Transportation has implemented fare reductions of 2.13 percent for passenger vehicles, 2.78 percent for freight vehicles in hilly regions, and 3.09 percent in the Terai.
In the event of a decrease of more than 5 percent in petroleum product prices, there is a provision to maintain a scientifically determined fare rate, ensuring adjustment to the new fare rate.
