Department of Transport Slashes Public Transport Fare After Fuel Price Adjustment

The Department of Transport Management has decided to slash the price of public transportation in line with the adjustment of fuel prices.
In a press release issued by the Department of Transport Management under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, it stated that passenger fare for long route has been reduced by 3.20%.
Meanwhile, the price for logistics vehicles operating on hilly and flat Terai roads too have been reduced by 4.19 % and 4.65%, respectively.
The new reduced prices will be in effect from today itself.
Given that the price of fuel fluctuates by 5% of the then rate, there is a practice of adjusting passenger fares accordingly.
Earlier, the Nepal Oil Corporation had decreased the price of Diesel by Rs. 10 per litre.
