PM Oli Urges Reforms in Global Financial System at FFD4 Civil Society Forum

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, addressing the closing plenary of the Civil Society Forum for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4) in Spain, emphasized the urgent need to reform the international financial system. Speaking as the chief guest, he called on developed countries to honor their financial commitments with concrete actions.

Highlighting the pivotal role of civil society, PM Oli urged consistent advocacy for development aid, debt sustainability, and financial reforms. He stated that civil society voices can drive real change, adding that Nepal remains committed to development guided by good governance, rule of law, and democracy.

He further underscored Nepal’s position that global investments must prioritize inclusion, necessity, and proportionality. Commending the role of civil society in fostering global partnerships, PM Oli called for joint efforts to ensure an equitable and sustainable future, leaving no one behind.

In a separate event, he stressed the importance of mobilizing private sector capital to create decent jobs and promote inclusive growth. The declaration endorsed by the Civil Society Forum is set to be adopted by the FFD4.
