Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced plans to withdraw Rs. 40 billion from the banking system to manage excess liquidity. The central bank will raise the amount through a competitive bidding process by inviting term deposits from banks and financial institutions.

The online bidding is scheduled for Wednesday at 3 PM, and both principal and interest will be settled on July 2.

This move comes as part of NRB's ongoing liquidity management efforts, following its earlier withdrawal of Rs. 205 billion through similar instruments, which are yet to mature.
