NEPSE up by double digits two days in a row; turnover at a 2-month high

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) index, that increased by a massive 41.83 points yesterday, has continued to rise today as well. The index surged 27.05 (2.05%) points today to close at 1,343.85. Within the first trading hour, it had surged to 1,337.61. Overflow of sellers dragged it down to 1,314.08 but it later bounced back to close at 1,343.85. The turnover of the day stood at Rs 66.04 crore, marking the highest transaction amount since December 20, 2016 when stocks worth Rs 68.39 crore were traded. sum Today, 9.10 lakh units of Laxmi Value Fund-1 (LVF1) and 2.71 lakh units of Nabil Balance Fund-1 (NBF1) were traded the most today. Bank of Kathmandu Lumbini Limited (BOKL), that announced book closure for its dividend today, had the highest turnover. It was closely followed by Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) and Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIB). Altogether, 26.68 lakh unit shares were traded through 7,285 transactions today. Just as yesterday, all the top 10 gaining companies today hit positive circuit.  Nepal Insurance Co. Ltd. (NICL), Nabil Balance Fund-1 (NBF1), Everest Insurance (EIC) and NB Insurance (NBIL) were among the top gainers. Newly traded Dibyashwari Hydopower Co. Limited (DHPC), Mission Development Bank Limited (MIDBL) and Goodwill Finance (GFCL) were the top losers today. Today, the sensitive index surged by 6.73 points, whereas float index rose by 2.14 points. All the Sub-indices except Manufacturing and Other sectors ended up in green today.
