NEPSE tumbles by 16.69 points and closes at 1,287.74

Today, the only local borse of the country opened at 1,304.75 points. Within the first hour of trading the index picked up by around 15 points, however after reaching 1,319.51 the index started to slide down and ultimately ended in the red zone.
Shares of Nepal Life Insurance (NLIC) stood ahead in terms of total turnover as more than Rs 2.36 crore worth of its shares were traded today. Similarly, over 45.5 thousands unit shares of Civil Bank Ltd. (CCBL) exchanged their ownership today making it the highest traded shares.
Scrips of Suryodaya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (SLBS) made the highest profit today as their value increased by 9.96% to Rs 108. On the other hand shares of Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) lost the most today with their value tumbling by 9.74% to Rs 926.
Both the Sensitive and float index went down today by 3.24 points and 1.3 points respectively.
Apart from the index of Trading and Hotels sector, all other groups lost points today and landed in red. Trading sector that gained 6.85 points stood as the top gainer. Insurance sector however lost 119.21 points making it the most unprofitable sector for the day.
