NEPSE surges by double digit to close at 1316.80; investors filled with excitement

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) that had a huge fall last week, has now shown a silver lining. The index surged by a massive 41.83 points today. The market opened at 1274.97 and didn’t fall back to that point today. The market rose till 1290.20 and made a minor correction. It then geared up and made it to 1316.80 by the end. Confidence was seen in the investors throughout the day. The turnover on this day stood at Rs 52.02 (approx. Rs 12 crore more than yesterday).
Today, 2.97 lakh units of SIGS1 and 1.80 lakh units of NMBSF1 were traded the most today. In terms of turnover, National Life Insurance (NLICL) made it to the top of the list, followed by Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) and Bank of Kathmandu Lumbini (BOKL). Altogether, 16.13 lakh unit shares were traded through 5,076 transactions today. Today, all the top 10 gaining companies hit positive circuit. Asian Life Insurance (ALICL), Sanima Mai Hydropower (SHPC), Neco Insurance (NIL), Siddhartha Insurance (SIL) were among the top gainers. Newly traded Dibyashwari Hydopower Co. Limited (DHPC), Srijana Finance (SFFIL) were among the top losing companies.
Today, the sensitive index surged by 9.2 points, whereas float index also rose by 3.18 points. All the Sub-indices except Manufacturing ended up in green today.
