NEPSE publishes list of Group “A” companies (good read for smart investors)

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has published a list of Group “A” companies for the fiscal year 2073/74. Out of 229 companies that are listed in NEPSE currently, 107 companies made it to the list for the FY 2073/74. Out of these 107 Group “A” companies, 26 are commercial banks, 3 are hydropower companies, 1 hotel, 17 insurance companies, 14 finance companies, 1 other sector company, and 45 development banks and microfinance companies. What are Group "A" companies? There are certain criteria for companies to be listed under Group “A”:

1. Should have paid up capital of minimum Rs 2 crore
2. Should have At least 1,000 shareholders from general public
3. Should be in profit for the last 3 years
4. Net worth per share should be above Rs 100
5. Should release its financial report for the last fiscal year within 6 months

While the NEPSE index is the market-weighted index of all listed companies, the market-weighted index of the Group "A" companies is measured by the "Sensitive index".
