NEPSE plunges by double digit; effect of economic blockade by India

An effect of undeclared economic blockade imposed by India was felt in Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) today. The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange went down by 16.77 points or 1.42 % to close at 1160.09 level. Opening at the 1176.46 level this afternoon, the local bourse came down to a 1149.92 level during the first trading hour of the day and later managed to hover around 1160 level. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 49.26 crore where more than 6 lakhs unit shares were traded through 2,368 transactions. All the sectors at NEPSE landed in red. Banking, Hotels and Hydropower plunged by double digit whereas Insurance sector plunged by triple digit. Sensitive index and the float index went down by 3.57 points and 1.22 points respectively. REDBL, NBB, SANIMA, NIBPO, GBIME, NIB, EBL, KBL, LUBL and SRBLwere among the top traded shares. REDBL, ARUN, KADBL, NCM, KDBL, KBBL, RBCLPO, BOK, NIBPO and SEWA were among the top gainers of the day. SINDU, HAMA, SKBBLK, APEX, RHPC, NIL, UFL, BLDBL, SUPRME and SBBLJ were the top losers of the day.
