NEPSE on a roller coaster ride; closes with a meager drop of 4 points

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) Index has shown 2 swings today. The market opened at 1278.98 and fell to 1260.87 in the first trading hour. It soon rose to 1284.02 and again reversed until it reached 1264.99. However, it rose steadily after that to close the day’s trading at 1274.97. It was just 4.01 points (0.31%) less than yesterday. The turnover of the day stood at Rs 40.41 crore (approx. Rs 10 crore less than yesterday).
Today, 1.05 lakh units of NMB Sulav Investment Fund -1 (NMBSF1) and 91,776 units of Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) were traded the most today. In terms of turnover, PRVU was on the top of the list, followed by Nepal Bangladesh Bank Limited (NBB) and Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIB). Altogether, 10.11 lakh unit shares were traded through 5,124 transactions today. Kalika Microcredit Development Bank (KMCDB), Sagarmatha Insurance Company (SIC) and Womi Microfinance (WOMI) gained the most while Dibyashwari Hydopower Co. Limited (DHPC), Nagbeli Microfinance Development Bank (NBBL) and United Insurance Company (UIC) lost the most.
Today, the sensitive index dropped by 1.15 points, whereas float index also dropped by 0.28 points. Only Development Banks and Hotels could end up in green today.
