NEPSE Loses 79.57 Points and Closes at 2,281.67, All Sectors Take Painful Beating From the Bears

The NEPSE index closed at 2,281.67 today after losing 79.57 points from yesterday's closing. This is a loss of 3.37% on the index. The index had lost 88.70 points yesterday.

233 scrips traded hands via 62,809 transactions. The Float index is at 156.54 after losing 3.38% while the Sensitive index lost 2.77% and is now at 437.59.

Nabil Bank Limited (NABIL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 18.03 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 1,366.10 per share. The shares of National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) traded the most.

Gurkhas Finance Limited (GUFL) is the highest gainer with a 9.47% gain. Meanwhile, Swabhimaan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SMFBS) lost the most 9.99%, thereby hitting the negative circuit breaker.

All sectors indices have lost today. "Finance" lost the most 5.34%.

Technical Analysis Highlights

The index opened at 2,351.77 and did not trade higher. It then went as low as 2,259.63 and closed at 2,281.67. With this, the index is at the lowest point since 13th January. The index closed green only thrice in the last 18 trading days. 

A total of 9,679,072 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 3.995 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 3.199 Arba.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 19.43. The reading was at 22.65 yesterday. The RSI crossing below the "30" level indicates oversold conditions. Meanwhile, both the MACD line and the signal line are negative, i.e. below zero, with the MACD reading at -94.75. This reading was at -80.29 yesterday. The MACD line is below the signal line, and both are negative, hence indicating a general pessimism in the market.

The index has broken down from the previously expected support zones. The next demand zones may come near the 2,200 or the 2,070 levels.
