Nepse Index loses 9.97 points amidst wait & watch situation among investors; Minimal turnover of Rs 49.88 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), has closed negatively by 9.97 points or 0.63 % to close at 1580.52 points. Nepse Index opened at 1590.05 points today and the local bourse was seen in downward trend during the first trading hour of the day after that it was seen fluctuating. index The total turnover of the day was limited to around Rs. 49.88 crore only today, in which 7.98 lakh unit shares were traded through 6,723 transactions. Further decline in turnover indicates that investors are opting for wait-and-watch approach as opposed to haphazard buying and selling. 116,293 units shares of Nabil Balanced Fund-1 (NBF1) and 37,320 unit shares of NMB Sulav Investment Fund-1 (NMBSF1) were traded the most today. The best performer for the day was World Merchant banking and Finance Limited (WMBF), which hit 10% positive circuit break whereas, Everest Bank Limited Convertible Preference Share (EBLCP) and Taragaon Regency hotel Limited (TRH) were the biggest loser today. Sensitive and float index went down by 2.02 and 0.72 points respectively. All the sub-indices landed in red zone today.  Insurance sub-group witnessed the biggest drop of 81.06 points followed by Hotel group which plunged by 28.99 points.
