NEPSE fails to close above 1600 level; index closes with 5 points gain at 1589.59 points with turnover of Rs 67.38 crore

On the last trading day of the week, the benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) went up by 5.10 points or 0.32% to\ close at 1589.59 points.
Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1584.51 points and the local bourse was seen in upward trend stepping above 1600 points in the second trading hour of the day after that it was seen declining.
83,840 unit shares of Prabhu Bank Limited Promoter shares (PRVUPO) and 73,832 unit shares of Janata Bank Nepal Limited (JBNL) were traded the most today. Everest Bank Limited (EBL) had the highest turnover of over Rs. 6.21 crore, followed by Standard Chartered Bank Limited (SCB) with Rs. 5.15 crore.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 67.38 crore in which more than 11.18 lakh units shares were traded through 6,060 transactions.
The best performers of the day were Central Finance Company Limited (CFCL), National Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NMFBS) whereas Green Development Bank Limited (GRDBL) and Everest Bank Limited Convertible Preference Shares (EBLCP) were among the top losers.
Sensitive and float index increased by 1.31 points and 0.44 points respectively.
Expect Others sector, all sub-groups landed in green zone today. Development banks, Insurance and Hotel sub-group increased by double digit.
