NEPSE drops by 24.45 points; Turnover stands just at Rs 25.69 crore

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has shrunk by 24.45 points (1.83%) today. The market opened at 1,337.46 and fell slightly to 1,334.21 at the end of the first trading hour. However, the market couldn’t come up throughout the day. It ultimately ended at 1313.01. The total turnover stood at only Rs 25.69 crore, around Rs 4 crore less than the last trading day.
Today, 62,139 units of Kumari Bank shares (KBL) and 24,577 units of Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) were traded the most today. Kumari Bank and Nepal Investment Bank (NIB) had the highest turnovers. Sahara Bikas Bank Limited (SHBL) and Mission Development Bank (MIDBL) were among the companies with highest gain today and Sindhu Bikas Bank (SINDU) and Nepal Telecom (NTC) were the biggest losers.
Today, 5.12 lakh unit shares were traded through 3,207 transactions. None of the sub-indices could end up in green today. “Other” sector dropped by the highest percentage today, affected by the dip in price of NTC. The sensitive index slipped by 5.86 points and float index dropped by 1.58 points.
