NEPSE creates new sub-index for microfinance companies

Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has removed microfinance institutions from the sub-index of development banks and created a new sub index for the microfinance. Earlier, the microfinance companies were grouped in the “Development Bank” sub-index. index Murahari Parajuli, Spokeperson of Nepse, said “As Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has listed development banks in Class B, and Microfinance and development banks have different business methods, we have decided to separate D listed microfinance companies to detect the actual value of development banks as well as microfinance companies”. Now, the Class B development bank sub-group includes 38 listed development banks whereas microfinance sub-group includes 33 listed microfinance companies.
