Nepal has welcomed the recent announcement of a two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, viewing it as a positive step toward regional peace and stability.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, Nepal reiterated its consistent stance in favor of the peaceful settlement of disputes. The statement said the ceasefire marks a constructive opportunity for dialogue, diplomacy, and the peaceful resolution of differences in West Asia.

The government also expressed concern over the humanitarian impact of the conflict, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the safety and well-being of civilians affected by ongoing tensions.

“Nepal remains supportive of all efforts by the international community aimed at promoting lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond,” the statement added. This development is seen as a hopeful step in de-escalating tensions in West Asia and underscores the role of diplomacy in resolving international conflicts.
