Monitory Policy to be made public tomorrow; NRB might revise CRR ratio

Monetary policy for the fiscal year 2072/73 will be released by Nepal Rastra bank (NRB) on Shrawan 7 (tomorrow) at 2 PM, Hotel Radission.

After the huge fiscal budget brought by the government, all eyes are set on the monetary policy.

Mr. Min Bahadur Shrestha, Spokesperson of NRB said, “Monitory Policy will be made public tomorrow.”

To tackle with the expenses of the huge budget of fiscal year 2072/73 and also to deal with the current surplus liquidity situation of the banks, monitory policy 2072/23 is likely to bring an increment of 0.5 percent to 1 percent in Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR).

At present, CRR is 6 percent for commercial banks, 5 percent to development banks, and 4 percent to finance companies.
