Kaski Police Collect Rs 4.4 Million in Traffic Fines in Baisakh
The District Police Office, Kaski collected more than Rs 4.4 million in revenue from motorists penalized for violating traffic rules during the month of Baisakh.
According to Police Inspector Sujit Kumar Devkota, a total of 5,263 drivers faced action during the period. Traffic records show that 22 road accidents occurred in the district, leaving five people dead and 26 others injured.
Police data revealed that 12 vehicles were booked for overspeeding, while five individuals were caught driving without a licence and three were found operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol.
Inspector Devkota said traffic police have stepped up monitoring and enforcement measures against traffic offenders. Joint inspections are being carried out by the District Police Office and the Traffic Police Office targeting vehicles as well as drivers.
The campaign also focused on monitoring the behaviour of public transport staff towards passengers, while the conduct of traffic police personnel during inspections was likewise reviewed.
