Investors hopeful for Congress Government; Market rises by double digit with turnover above Rs 91.93 crore

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) had increased by 34.72 points or 2.17% to close at 1637.37 points.
The rapid rise in the stock market is due to the reason that the parliamentary voting to elect Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba as the new prime minister of the country and the investors are positive towards new government. Nepse Index opened at 1602.65 points today and the local bourse was seen in upward trend.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs. 91.93 crore where 15.16 lakh unit shares were traded through 7,886 transactions.
The best performers for the day were Mithila Bikas Bank Limited (MLBBL), RSDC Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (RSDC) and World Merchant banking and Finance Limited (WMBF) hitting 10% positive circuit break. Whereas, Bottlers Nepal (Terai) Limited was the biggest loser today.
298,407 units shares of Civil Bank Limited (CBL) and 53,746 unit shares of Kumari Bank Limited were traded the most today.
Sensitive and float index increased by 7.83 points and 2.68 points respectively.
Except Manufacturing and Production group which shed 14.06 points, all groups observed gain today. Insurance group went up highest by 172.57 points to close at 8707.48 points. Hotels, Banking, Development Banks, Others and Hydropower sub index rose by double digit.
