Hydropower companies to pay upto Rs 20 lakh for PPA; By-law to be implemented soon

The hydropower companies desirous to take a Purchase Power Agreement (PPA) will have to pay up to Rs 20 lakh for the purpose.
Recently published Bidhyut Niyaman Aayog Nimawali, 2075 has the provision above stated. Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Mr Barsaman Pun had taken an special initiative to bring the by-law into implementation.
The formation of ‘Bidhyut Niyaman Aayog’ is also underway and will soon be in operation.
It has been mentioned that amount upto Rs 7,500 will be charged by the Bidhyut Niyaman Aayog while determining electricity buy –sell rates. Similarly, for projects ranging from 100 KW to 1 MW, charge upto Rs 1 lakh, for projects upto 1000 MW charge of Rs 10,000 per MW and for projects above 1000 MW, charge of Rs 20 lakh has been determined.
