Gold Drops By Rs. 4,200 in Single Day; Silver Follows Suit With 270 Rupee Drop
The domestic fine gold market recorded a notable decline on Friday, with prices falling by Rs. 4,200 per tola.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), fine gold is currently being traded at Rs. 291,000 per tola, down from the previous rate of Rs. 2,95,200 per tola.
Likewise, Tejabi gold has dropped to Rs. 290,300 per tola, marking a decrease of Rs. 4,200 from Friday’s price of Rs. 2,94,500 per tola.
The latest correction follows a recent surge, when fine gold hit an all-time high of Rs. 3,39,300 per tola on January 29, 2026.
Meanwhile, silver prices also declined by Rs. 270 per tola, with the metal now trading at Rs. 4,710 per tola, compared to Rs. 4,980 per tola the previous day.
In the international market, gold is trading at $4,837.40 per ounce, while silver is priced at $73.74 per ounce.
