Financial literacy must from school level: Governor; still 55% people are not aware of financial literacy

Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr Chiranjibi Nepal stressed the need to roll out financial literacy from school level. In his address to the 64th anniversary of Chandeswori Secondary School at Banepa municipality, ward-4, Nala in Kavre today, he said it is imperative to teach school-going children how to manage and utilize money.

A 'Financial Literacy Cycle Rally 2019' was also organized on the participation of banks and financial institutions of the area on the same occasion. "Banks and financial institutions have reached to the villages after the placement of local governments". he said, 'However we are flying for gulf countries being myopic to the opportunities for money-making at local level".

He claimed that still 55 percent people in the country are not aware of financial literacy. Around 300 people had participated in the cycle rally on the occasion.
