Finance sector lost the most; turnover decline by 13.52% to Rs 1.54 arba; Weekly Wrap Up of the NEPSE index

Market declined by 10.97 points (0.90%) this week. This week the market opened at 1224.03 points on Sunday and closed at 1213.06 points Thursday. On the first trading day the index was down by 9.20 points, on Monday index went up by 7.23 points, on Tuesday index lost 8.43 points, on Wednesday index slightly went up by 0.43 points and on Thursday index was down by 0.99 points.

 

Candlestick pattern:

Long candle was made in 3 trading days and doji candle made in last 2 trading days. This week NEPSE index traded in support zone of 1214 but closed at 1213.These candlestick pattern indicates low volatility and lesser charm in market.

Exponential Moving Average:

We have used EMA's of 5 days' time period (blue line), 20 days' time period (red line). At present, NEPSE Index is below both 5 days EMA and 20 days EMA. Value below moving average usually is bearish signal. Dead cross signal generated by moving average on 29th of July,2019 is still valid.

Relative Strength Index:

Currently, relative strength index is at oversold zone, 30.14 level.

Moving Average Convergence and Divergence:

MACD line (blue) and the signal line (red line) are in negative zone. Histogram is also in negative zone which shows market could fall further in upcoming days.

Fibonacci retracement method:

Nepse Index closed at 1213.06 this week. This week index closes below 50% Fibonacci retracement from low of 1102 to high of 1349.Now need to wait for major Fibonacci retracement of 61.8% i.e., at 1195 level.
