Female ownership in land increasing post the offering of 25% to 30% discount in the registration

In Salyan, female ownership on land and building is at an increasing rate. The decision of the government to provide a discount on the registration fee by 25% to 30% has increased the registration under the name of female, senior citizens, and dalits.

The government has taken this initiative to increase the participation of female and as we see in the results it has created a positive impact in the case of Salyan. The registration under the name of women has increased by 20% to 30% in the last year. In the year 2075/2076, 1400 new registrations were made under female ownership.

The trend of registering under female ownership is increasing more rapidly in the city areas than in rural area. Last year 800 female from city and 600 female from rural area have registered which in total makes 1400. Through this initiative, a total of Rs. 27 lakh 27 thousand 868 has been discounted as per Budhathoki.

In Salyan a total of 1902 registration have been done, which includes registration of female, dalit and physically disabled people, in the last year where a total of Rs. 32 lakh 30 thousand and 429 was discounted as per land revenue office.
