Everest Bank, Standard Chartered and National Life Insurance in top priority of Mutual Fund Schemes for investment

There are six licensed mutual fund schemes run by five Merchant Banks so far in Nepal. They are Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme-1 (SIGS1) scheme value of Rs 50 crore, Siddhartha Equity Oriented Scheme (SEOS) scheme value of Rs 100 crore, Laxmi Value Fund-1  scheme value of Rs 50 crore, Nabil Balanced Fund-1 scheme value of 75 crore , NIBL Samriddhi Fund-1 scheme value of Rs 100 crore and NMB Sulav Investment Fund-1 scheme value of Rs 75 crore.       Mutal fund with watermark As per the financial statement published by six Mutual Fund Schemes as of Falgun end, 2072; in total Rs 4.74 arba amount of investment is seen in the shares of listed companies of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited. The highest chunk of this investment has gone into buying the shares of commercial banks. As per the analysis done by ShareSansar, it has been found that  43.04%, which translates into massive Rs 2.04 arba is invested in shares of the commercial banking sector alone. The microfinance sector has emerged a distant second to attract investments from mutual funds. Mutual funds have invested Rs 77.74  crore in the shares of microfinance companies, which is 16.37% of their combined investments in stocks. The mutual fund schemes have a total investment of 10.95% in non-life insurance sector, which is worth Rs 52 crore and 10.79% in life insurance sector which is worth Rs. 51.22 crore. The rest of the pie is divided as follows: Development banking sector (Rs 37.57 crore or 7.91%), Hydropower sector (Rs 24.29 crore or 5.12%), Telecommunication or Others sector (Rs 14.91 crore or 3.14%) , Manufacturing (Rs 5.07 crore or 1.07%), Finance companies (Rs 4.20 crore or 0.89%) and Hotels (Rs 2.38 crore or 0.50%) and Mutual fund (Rs 1.04 crore or 0.22%). In terms of the highest investment in individual companies the stocks of Everest Bank (EBL),  Standard Chartered Bank (SCB),  National Life Insurance (NLICL), Nepal Telecom (NTC) are the clear favorite with the mutual fund managers.
