COVID-19: 13 more found infected, 134 in total; Kapilvastu sealed due to increasing number of infected people
An additional 13 persons have been confirmed positive to Corona Virus this evening. Of them, six each are from Kapilvastu and Rupandehi and one from Bardia.
The infected include 12 men and one woman, and are between the age of 11 to 40 years old, according to joint-spokesperson of Ministry of Health and Population Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari. The test was confirmed in the National Public Health Laboratory in the capital.
With this, the total number of COVID-19 infected persons in Nepal has reached 134. Of them, 24 were confirmed positive today itself.
With the increasing number of coronavirus infected people in Kapilvastu district, local administration has sealed off the district. A meeting of security committee of the district held on Monday decided to seal off the district due to increasing risk of coronavirus infection. The committee decided to completely shut down the district from 5:00 pm yesterday to May 18 midnight, reads a press release issued by Chief District Officer, Dirgha Narayan Poudel. Movement of vehicles except essentials—food, vegetables, fruits, petroleum products, medicines, drinking water, ambulances, and vehicles moving via the highway has been completely restricted.
