Citizens Bank Reports Impressive Growth in Major Indicators in Q4; Asset Quality Declined in This Quarter

Citizens Bank International Limited (CZBIL) has published its fourth-quarter report for the FY 2077/78 with a rise in net profit by 33.40%.

The bank’s profit has increased from Rs 1.19 arba in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2076/77 to Rs 1.59 arba in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2077/78. In the same quarter, the bank has Rs 1.57 arba as distributable profit after PL Appropriation and Regulatory Adjustments.

Citizen Bank acquired Srijana Finance which also contributed to growth for Citizens Bank International Limited.

The bank’s deposits from customers have a growth rate of 58.92% (compared to the immediate previous year ending) to Rs 1.40 kharba and loans and advances to customers have increased by 50.13% (compared to the immediate previous year ending) to Rs 1.18kharba in the third quarter.

The net interest income of the bank has increased by 25.08% to Rs 3.60 arba from Rs 2.88 arba of the corresponding quarter.

The bank’s paid-up capital stands at Rs 12.57 arba with Rs 6.09 arba as its reserve and surplus.

The Non-Performing Loan (NPL) has increased to 2.77% from 1.55%. The rise in NPL has degraded the quality of assets in Q4 in this pandemic time.

The EPS of the bank stands at Rs 12.71. The net worth per share stands at Rs 148.49. The company traded at a P/E ratio of 30.36 times.

*Note: As per the NFRS method the EPS of the bank comes out to be Rs 15.38.
