Capital Market Index dwindles by 7.94 points on week's last trading day; Turnover further slides to Rs 48.97 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), has closed negatively by 7.94 points or 0.49 % to close at 1615.19 points on the last trading day of the week.
Seasonal investors regard this as sideways movement and a further continuation of selling pressure as a result of the recent surge. Further decline in turnover indicates that investors are opting for wait-and-watch approach as opposed to haphazard buying and selling.
The total turnover of the day was limited to around Rs. 48.97 crore only today, in which 8.04 lakh unit shares were traded through 5,443 transactions.
Nepse Index opened at 1623.13 points today and the local bourse was seen fluctuating throughout the day---signalling pressure from buyers and sellers.
44,407 units shares of Nabil Equity Fund (NEF) and 42,455 units shares of Civil Bank Limited (CBL) were traded the most today.
Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited (SCB) had the highest turnover of over Rs. 3.66 crore, followed by Nepal Life Insurance Company limited (NLIC) at Rs. 2.83 crore.
RSDC Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (RSDC) and World Merchant Banking and Finance Limited (WMBF) hit positive circuit break today whereas Progressive Finance limited (PROFL) and Sahara Bikas Bank Limited (SHBL) were also among the top losers today.
Sensitive and float index decreased by 1.79 points and 0.6 points respectively. All sub-group landed in red zone today. Insurance and Hotel sub-group decreased by double digit.
