Capital Market Index drops by meager 0.39 points on week's last trading day; Improvement in turnover above Rs 78.12 crore

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), has closed negatively by a meager 0.39 points or 0.02 % to close at 1643.87 points on the last trading day of the week.
NEPSE index is showing sideways movement for the last couple of weeks. Nepse Index opened at 1644.36 points today and the local bourse was seen fluctuating throughout the day---signalling equal pressure from buyers and sellers.
113,906 units shares of Janata Bank Nepal Limited (JBNL) and 72,546 units shares of Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank Limited (NCCB) were traded the most today.
Himalayan General Insurance Company Limited (HGI) has the highest turnover of over Rs. 74.49 crore, followed by Life Insurance Corporation Nepal Limited (LICN) with Rs. 4.91 crore.
NB Insurance Company Limited (NBIL), Bottlers Nepal Terai Limited (BNT), Mero Microfinance Company Limited (MERO) and Synergy Power Company Limited (SPDL) hit positive circuit break today whereas Janata Bank Nepal Limited (JBNL) and Dibyashwori Hydropower Company Limited (DHPL) were among the top losers today.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 78.12 crore where more than 12.07 lakh units shares were traded through 5,541 transactions.
Sensitive index and float index slightly went down by 0.54 points and 0.15 points respectively.
Except Banking and Others, all the sub-indices landed in green zone today. Hotels and Manufacturing sub-index rises by 35.74 and 35.11 points respectively.
