Capital Market Index dips by 3.80 points on week’s last trading day; Turnover above Rs 64.91 crore

On the last trading day of the week, the benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has declined by 3.80 points or 0.24% to close at 1,604.31 points.
Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1,608.20 points and was seen in an increasing trend. However, on the second trading hour of the day, the market lost more points – signaling selling pressure among buyers.
The best performer for the day was United Modi Hydropower Limited (UMHL) hitting 10% positive circuit break whereas Shree Investment finance Company limited (SIFC) was the biggest loser with Rs 5.08 percent loss.
88,100 units shares of Siddhartha Equity Oriented Scheme (SEOS) and 77,933 units shares of Asian Life Insurance Company Limited Promoter Shares (ALICLP) were traded the most today. Also, Asian Life Insurance Company Limited Promoter Shares (ALICLP) and Standard Chartered Bank Limited (SCB) had the highest turnover of Rs 6.23 crore and Rs 3.48 crore respectively today.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 64.91 crore where more than 11.92 lakh units shares were traded through 6,333 transactions.
Sensitive and float index went up by 0.93 and 0.24 points respectively.
Except Manufacturing & Production and Hydropower group, all groups landed in red zone today. Manufacturing & Production group went up to19.16 points whereas Hotels and Insurance sub index plunged by double digit.
