10 more reported positive for COVID-19 totaling 42 in Nepal; all of them are from Udayapur district

Ten more cases have been reported positive for the COVID-19 on Tuesday. All of them are from Udayapur district. Co-Spokesperson at Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Samir Adhikari, confirmed that eight persons were found positive for the coronavirus with the test conducted at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, and two others with the test conducted at National Public Health Laboratory, Kathmandu.

These infected ones are also from the group of persons in a mosque at Bhulke of Triyuga Municipality, Udayapur. It is the second time such large number of people reported positive to the coronavirus in Nepal.

Four days back, a dozen of people from Udayapur were tested positive.

Similarly, a 33-year-old man was tested positive to coronavirus in Udaypur on Tuesday itself. With this, total number of infected in Udayapur reached 24, and in the country 42.

Co-Spokesperson Dr Adhikari further informed that among 260 suspected of coming in contact with the infected ones in Udayapur, two were tested positive while the report of remaining 20 was awaited from Teku National Laboratory.

Among those tested positive of late, two are of 18 year, one of 20, one of 40, two of 41, one of 52 and another one of 58 years. All of them are male. Similarly, among them, two are female- one is 36 year old and another of unidentified age.

So far, four COVID-19 positive persons have returned home after cure.
