Api Power grabs tender for 19.5MW Solar Power Plant Installation

Api Power Company, with number of hydropower projects in its name, has now got the tender to install 19.5 MW solar power plants from Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). The hydropower company has got the tender to install 19.5 MW solar power plants in various substations of the country. The hydropower company is all set to install solar power plants after Dashain. The substations will be in Duhabi, Bardaghat, Chanaute, Kawasoti, Dhalkebar, Parwanipur, Simara and Chandranigahapur of the country.With maximum time limit up to 6 months to run solar plants, the generated electricity will be connected to NEA grids in these substations at 11KV and 33 KV. The cost per MW for solar plants installation ranges from Rs 8-10 Crores. Solar plants are feasible in Nepalese context. The Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of solar plants is more than 15%. Likewise, the payback period of solar plants range from 6-8 Years. The electricity generated by the company will run up to 8-10 hours per day at the installed substations at the mentioned rates: With these figures of solar substation plants in different parts of the country, Api can give handsome dividend to its shareholders from next year onwards.  This fiscal year Api has declared 5% bonus shares to its shareholders. In addition, the company’s Special General Meeting (SGM) held on Chaitra 27, 2072 had also endorsed 200 percent right share to increase paid up capital. The company had constructed 8.5 MW Naugarh Gad Hydropower Project in the Naugarh Gad River within 17 months .The on-going 8.5 MW  Naugarh Gad project and 19.5 MW solar power plant projects are supposed to be the strength of the company in days to come. Similarly, the company is in the process of constructing 8 MW Upper Naugarh Gad and       75 MW Trishuli Galchi. Siddhakali Power Company Limited, a subsidiary project of Api Power Company Limited had signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NEA on Jestha 20, 2073 for constructing 75MW Trishuli Galchi Hydropower Project. Likewise Ridi Hydropower Development Company Ltd has also got a solar tender from NEA  for 8.5 MW solar plant in Butwol.
