Weekly wrap up; (Review Period: Jan 11 – Jan 14)

The benchmark index has surged up by 8.56 points or 0.91 percent to close at 939.53 level this week compared to last week closing od 930.97 level.
Movement of both buying and selling investors was seen in the market this week led the NEPSE index movement face insignificant ups and downs throughout the week.
The local bourse slipped meager 2.64 points and 0.53 point on first 2 trading day of the week closing at 928.33 and 927.80 levels respectively.
There after the benchmark turned upward to gain 9.68 points and 2.05 points on last two trading days of the week (Tuesday and Wednesday) closing at 937.48 and 939.53 levels respectively.
The lowest of the week was of 927.80 level on Monday (Jan 12) whereas highest was on Wednesday (Jan 14) of 939.53 level.
Similarly NEPSE sensitive and Float moved up by 1.17 points and 0.34 point to close at 200.09 and 65.43 levels respectively.
Market remained close on Thursday (Jan 15) on the occasion of Maghe Sankranti celebration in the country.
Among the sub-indices, Banking plunged by 3.09 points or 0.37 percent to remain at 816.74 level than 819.83 level of last week.
Similarly Hotels, Trading and HydroPower went down by 0.97 point, 2.03 points and 8.59 points to settle at 2076.83, 183.05 and 2286.35 levels respectively than last week.
On the contrary, Finance, Manufacturing and Others surged by double digit of 24.99 points, 82.78 points and 15.27 points to settle at 505.82, 1363.72 and 734.27 levels respectively.
Development gained meager 4.94 points to close at 726.02 whereas Insurance gained maximum among the sub-indices amounting 121.18 points surge than last week to close at 4139.48 level.
The total turnover has however plunged by Rs 452.29 million or 31.42 percent this week (4 trading days) than last week (5 trading days) total of Rs 1.43 billion. The average turnover of this week stood at Rs 246.82 million whereas the last week average was of Rs 287.91 million.
Altogether 1,903,591 unit shares were traded through 8,369 transaction worth Rs 987.28 million.
