Weekly Wrap-up (Review Period August 2 to 6 – 2015)

The local bourse gained in double digit of 12.38 point or 1.2 percent to close at 1040.36 level this week than the last week closing of 1027.98 level.

Similarly Sensitive and Float index gained 1.8 and 1 points respectively compared to last week.

There was changes in the trading timing on Sunday due to power supply problem in NEPSE and so the trading in the secondary market started at 3 PM and closed at 6 PM onn that day. Due to this unusual timing the total turnover that day amounted just Rs 26.37 crore, however the benchmark index gained 6.16 points.

Thereafter for remaining days, trading was normal whereas the local bourse plunged meager points of 3.74 and 0.48 points and then gained 4.1 and 6.34 points respectively on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Highest and lowest of this week was of 1040.36 and 1029.92 levels on Thursday and Tuesday respectively.

Among the sub-indices, Banking and Hotels gained 11.52 and 15.71 points respectively than last week.

Insurance index gained maximum of 224.34 points or 5.27 percent compared to last week to close at 4479.21 level.

Development and Finance gained meager 4.08 and 1.33 points respectively than last week.

However HydroPower and Others sectors plunged by 2.75 and 15.27 points respectively compared to last week.

The total turnover of this week amounted Rs 248.17 crore where more than 48 lakhs unit shares were traded.

Average turnover of last four trading days stood at Rs 55.44 crore.
