Weather Update: Partly Cloudy with Rain in Some Areas, Chance of Heavy Rain in Select Provinces

Today, the weather across the country is expected to be partly to generally cloudy. There is a likelihood of light to moderate rain occurring in various parts of the country. Additionally, there may be instances of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in select areas of the Koshi Province and Gandaki Province.

As we move into tonight, the weather will remain generally to mostly cloudy nationwide. There is a chance of light to moderate rain in several regions, including Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province, and Sudur Pashchim Province. Moreover, a few places in the other provinces may also experience rain. In specific areas of Gandaki Province and Sudur Pashchim Province, heavy rain with thunder and lightning could occur.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the prevailing monsoon winds and the current position of the Axis of Monsoon Trough, which is located south of its average position. The influence of the monsoon winds is responsible for the current weather patterns we are observing.
