Weather Update: Monsoon Rains and Thunderstorms Expected in Several Provinces

Today, partly to generally cloudy skies will prevail throughout the country. We can anticipate light to moderate rainfall in certain areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, and Gandaki Province. Additionally, there is a possibility of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at one or two locations in Koshi Province. These weather conditions can be attributed to the prevailing monsoon winds and the current position of the Axis of Monsoon Trough, which lies to the south of its average location.

As we move into tonight, generally to mostly cloudy conditions will persist across the country. There is a likelihood of light to moderate rainfall in some areas nationwide. Furthermore, there is a chance of heavy rain with thunder and lightning occurring at one or two locations in both Koshi Province and Gandaki Province.

The meteorological analysis provided by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, suggests that these weather patterns are typical during the monsoon season. The monsoon winds are currently influencing the weather conditions we are experiencing.
