Weather Update: July 26, 2023

Today:

Partly to generally cloudy throughout the country, with varying precipitation patterns expected across different provinces. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some places of Lumbini Province, Karnali Province, Sudur Pashchim Province, and hilly regions of the remaining provinces. Additionally, a few places in the rest of the country may also experience similar weather conditions. Furthermore, there is a chance of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the Koshi Province, Gandaki Province, and Sudur Pashchim Province.

Tonight:

The night is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy across the country. There is a likelihood of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places in the hilly regions of Nepal and at one or two places in other parts of the country. Moreover, there are chances of heavy rainfall occurring at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, and Lumbini Province.

Meteorological Analysis:

The current weather conditions are influenced by partial Monsoon air present in Nepal, along with a low-pressure area located in and around the northwest of the Bay of Bengal. The axis of Monsoon Trough is situated south of its average position.
