Weather Update: Heavy Rainfall Expected in Several Provinces of Nepal

Meteorological Forecasting Division, Nepal: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a weather update for today and tonight.

Today's Weather:

Region: Generally cloudy throughout the country.
Rainfall: Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning expected in some places of the hilly regions. A few places in the rest of the country may also experience light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning.
Heavy Rainfall: There is a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, and Sudur Pashchim Province.

Tonight's Weather:

Region: Partly to generally cloudy throughout the country.
Rainfall: Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning likely in a few places in the hilly regions and at one or two places in the terai regions of the country.
Heavy Rainfall: There is a chance of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the Koshi Province and Lumbini Province.

Meteorological Analysis:
At present, Nepal is experiencing a partial influence of the Monsoon air, combined with a low-pressure area in and around the Bay of Bengal. The axis of the Monsoon Trough is currently located south of its average position.
