Water-Energy-Food Nexus workshop kicks off

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Fulbright Water-Energy-Food Nexus Regional Workshop kicked off in Kathmandu on Tuesday aiming to explore how water, energy and food security are inter-related in South Asia and the global context.

Forty-five South Asian alumni of the US Fulbright, Humphrey, and International Visitors Leadership Programs, and another 40 regional and international experts are participating in the program.

According to the organizers, the three-day workshop is an experience sharing program for balanced and coordinated use of water for food production and energy among others.

Highlighting the importance of shared understanding on issues like the water-energy-food nexus, US Ambassador Peter W Bodde said the engagement in this workshop will help ensure improving the stewardship of most precious resources and help ensure continued water, energy, and food security in the individual country level and regional level.
