Voting Concludes at 5 PM

Voting in the House of Representatives elections has completed at 5 pm. The Election Commission had set the voting time from 7 am to 5 pm today.

However, voters who already entered the polling centres before the deadline or were waiting in queues will still be allowed to cast their ballots, said the EC.

Following the completing of voting, ballot boxes will be transported to designated counting centres, and vote counting will begin after an all-party meeting.

 The EC claimed that under the first-past-the-post system, vote counting will be complete within 24 hours after it begins.

According to the EC, voting remained largely peaceful across the country with only minor incidents reported.
