The government has introduced an online payment system for driver's license revenue. The service has been initiated as a test in the Gandaki province and will be extended to transport management offices nationwide in a few weeks.

On Wednesday, Transport Minister Prakash Jwala, from the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, launched a system allowing online payment of license revenue. The aim is to eliminate long queues at traffic management offices and facilitate revenue payment from the comfort of one's home. The minister believes this service will also help eliminate intermediaries in the transportation process.

Individuals who have passed the written and trial exams are now able to pay their license revenue online. Payment can be made through popular wallets such as eSewa, Khalti, and Connect IPS.

Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the director general of the department, stated that the online service has been implemented to eliminate the need for physical presence in queues. He further mentioned that after a successful trial in Gandaki, this service will be expanded nationwide. Bhattarai emphasizes that physical presence will still be required for the written examination, biometric verification, and the trial process.
